Privacy Policy

Effective Date: 2026-06-29

Who we are: Nomo Innovations LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”), Lititz, PA. Questions: support@lumosafetylight.com.

This policy explains what information we collect through the Lumo SafetyLight device, our website, and our service, and how we use and protect it. It works alongside our Terms of Use and our Founding Reservation Terms.

Product names used in this Policy

“Lumo SafetyLight” is the full name of our product; for convenience, this Policy also refers to it simply as “Lumo.” Both names mean the same product. The company that makes and sells it is Nomo Innovations LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”).

1. Who this covers

This policy applies to two kinds of people:

·           The account holder — the customer (usually a family member or caregiver) who buys the device, sets it up, and receives the texts.

·           The monitored resident — the person whose home the device is in, whose activity it detects. See Section 5 for how we treat their information.

2. What we collect

a. Information you give us. Your name, email, the caregiver cell number(s) you enroll for alerts, shipping/billing details, and your device settings (your SafeWatch windows, modes, light preferences).

b. Information from the device. Lumo uses a passive motion (PIR) sensor. It records motion-activity events and timestamps — for example, “movement detected at 7:14 a.m.” This activity is evaluated and stored on the device in the resident’s home; it is not copied to our servers. The only thing that leaves the home is the resulting recap or alert text, delivered to your caregiver number(s) through our text-message provider (see Section 6). The device has no camera and no microphone. It does not collect images, video, or audio, and it does not identify who moved — only that movement occurred. Lumo reports activity, not a person’s condition or wellbeing. Lumo also does not collect the monitored resident’s name, address, or phone number — the only contact details it holds are the caregiver number(s) entered into the device for sending texts.

c. Information collected automatically on our website. Like most sites, our Shopify store and our capture/landing pages use cookies and similar technologies, including advertising pixels (Meta and Google), and collect your IP address, browser/device type, and how you use the site.

d. Payment information. Payments and reservations are processed by our payment providers (Shopify/Stripe). We do not store full card numbers on our own systems.

e. Device health information. To keep units working, the device sends us limited technical data — things like error codes, uptime, connectivity status, firmware version, and a count of texts sent — so we can tell whether a device is online or having connection issues. This is operational data about the device, not the resident’s activity log or the content of any text.

3. How we use information

·           To provide the service — detect activity in your windows, send heads-up texts and the nightly recap to your caregiver number(s).

·           To manage your account, reservation, and $4.99/month subscription, including billing and renewals.

·           To provide support and respond to you.

·           To improve and secure the product (diagnostics, reliability, fraud prevention).

·           To monitor device health and connectivity, so we can tell if a unit goes offline or needs attention.

·           To send marketing or update emails where you’ve opted in (you can opt out anytime).

·           To comply with law and enforce our terms.

4. Text messages (SMS)

By enrolling one or two caregiver cell numbers, you consent to receive Lumo’s recap and alert texts at those numbers, and you confirm you’re authorized to enroll them. Message and data rates may apply;

5. The monitored resident’s information

Because Lumo collects only anonymous in-home activity and nothing that identifies the resident — no name, address, or phone number (see Section 2b) — we hold no profile of the person being monitored. The device detects activity in their home, so they’re still a person this policy protects: when you set Lumo up, you confirm the resident is aware of and agrees to this activity monitoring. That activity is evaluated and kept on the device, and we collect only motion events — never audio, video, or images. If the resident (or you on their behalf) has any questions, contact us using the details above.

6. How we share information

We do not sell or rent your personal information.  We share information only with:

·           Service providers who run parts of the service for us — our store and checkout (Shopify), payments (Stripe), our text-message provider (Twilio), our operations and device-health monitoring tool (Airtable), and hosting and infrastructure providers. They may use your information only to perform services for us.

·           Advertising/analytics partners (Meta, Google) via website pixels, to measure and target our ads. See Section 7.

·           Legal and safety — if required by law, to protect rights and safety, or in connection with a business transfer (e.g., a sale of the company).

7. Cookies, tracking, and your ad choices

Our website uses cookies and advertising pixels (Meta, Google) to measure and target ads. You can control cookies through your browser, opt out of personalized ads through Meta’s and Google’s ad settings, and we will honor browser-based opt-out signals such as Global Privacy Control.

8. How long we keep information

We keep your account information while your account is active and for a reasonable period afterward. Activity events are stored on the device in the resident’s home — not on our servers — and are retained there on a 30 day rolling window before being overwritten. We keep device-health diagnostics in our operations tools for 90 days. We keep billing records as required by law.

9. How we protect information

We use reasonable safeguards — encryption in transit, access controls, and limited staff access — to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to limit what we collect in the first place.

10. Your choices and rights

You can review or update your account details, opt out of marketing emails, reply STOP to texts, and cancel your subscription at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or limit the use of your personal information, and to opt out of “sale” or “sharing” for targeted advertising. To make a request, contact support@lumosafetylight.com; we won’t discriminate against you for exercising these rights.

11. Children

Lumo is intended for adults. It is not directed to children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their information.

12. Changes

We may update this policy; we’ll post the new version with a new effective date and, for material changes, notify you.
